Mr. Sh. Dradek shiyichyeh

Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from the 19th of Teves and its content:

a) In the prayer Yishtabach, regarding "Melech Yachid Kel," should the word "Yachid" be attached before or after? It is understood that here "Yachid" is either connected to the preceding word "Melech," or it is an independent descriptor and does not continue either before or after—similar to Baruch She'amar.

b) Regarding pronouncing the Name Adnai: there are those who end with a kamatz under the nun without pronouncing the yud. Clearly this is an error from the outset (see Pri Megadim on Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim 265 in Eshel Avraham), and this is not a case where one should say "better they err unknowingly," because once their mistake is explained to them, they will try to correct it since it is within their ability.

I take this opportunity to encourage you regarding keeping up with the three daily study portions—Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—which we have heard many times from my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden yigaleinu amen (may his merit protect us), that they are suitable for everyone and a segulah for many matters.

Blessings for good news in all mentioned above, in the name of my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita.

The AriZal's version reads "Melech Yachid Chei HaOlamim," omitting the word Kel. This also proves that "Yachid" does not belong with "Kel." And Rabbeinu HaZaken explains in Torah Or (40c) on AriZal's version: "Melech—this is in a state of unique and singular..."
