בטח ילמוד בשופי נגלה וחסידות, וירבה בעבודת התפלה [ובזה אמירת שיעור חדשי של התהלים - כפי שנחלק התהלים לימי החדש - (וגם שבועי - [כמו שנחלק לימי השבוע]) - עד לאחרי חג הגאולה הבע"ל הוא יום י"ט כסלו] - אף שכמובן צ"ל זה בלי נדר, ובלימוד האמור מה טוב שיהי' גם לימוד בעל פה - עכ"פ פרק אחד משניות או פרק אחד תניא.
ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב מהצלחתו בלימוד תוה"ק תורה תמימה, נגלה וחסידות ביראת שמים וקיום מצותי' בהידור.

In response to your letter with a pan from the 14th of Cheshvan.
Certainly you will study both Nigleh and Chassidus abundantly, and increase in your service of prayer [and in this, reciting the monthly portion of Tehillim—as Tehillim is divided for the days of the month—(and also weekly—as it is divided for the days of the week)]—until after the upcoming festival of redemption which is Yud-Tes Kislev—even though this should be done without making a vow. In this study it is good if you also learn by heart—at least one chapter of Mishnayos or one chapter of Tanya.
May it be G‑d's will that you share good news about your success in studying our holy Torah—Torah Temimah—Nigleh and Chassidus with awe of Heaven and meticulous observance of its mitzvos.

In your letter you write that you were drafted into the army and request a blessing to be released from the army and return to the walls of yeshivah.
