במענה למכתבם אודות סיוע לגמור בנין המקוה.
הנה בכלל אין קופות למטרות כאלו נמצאות ת"י,
בכל זה מתאים למ"ש חבר אני לכל אשר יראוך ולשומרי פקודיך מצורף בזה המחאה עכ"פ השתתפות סמלית, אלא שכיון שנלקחה מאחת הקופות אשר לכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"ם זי"ע, איש תם וישר ירא אלקים וסר מרע וכו' וידוע הבטחת רז"ל, כל הנוטל פרוטה מקופת איש כזה מתברך (ב"ב טו, ב) שאין הכמות נוגע ובלבד שיהי' בזה כדי נתינת פרוטה.
ויהי רצון שיצליחו בעבודה הכי נעלית טהרת עם ישראל, לברך על המוגמר בקרוב ממש, ולהרבות הטהרה ותוצאותי',
כהודעת רז"ל טהרה מביאה לידי כו' קדושה חסידות ביאת אלי' הנביא במהרה בימינו יבוא ויגאלנו, כי"ר, אמן (סוף מס' סוטה*).

In response to your letter regarding assistance to complete the construction of the mikveh: In general, there are no funds for such purposes available here. Nevertheless, as it is written: "I am a companion to all who fear You and to those who keep Your precepts," I am attaching a check as at least symbolic participation. However, since it was taken from one of the funds belonging to my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe—of blessed memory, a man pure and upright who feared G‑d and shunned evil, etc.—it is known what our Sages said: Anyone who takes even a small coin from such a man's fund is blessed (Bava Basra 15b); the amount does not matter as long as it constitutes at least a minimal donation.
May it be G‑d's will that you succeed in this most exalted work—the purification of the Jewish people—to soon be able to recite the blessing on its completion and to increase purity and its results. As our Sages taught: Purity leads to holiness, piety, and ultimately to the coming of Eliyahu HaNavi speedily in our days—may he come and redeem us, so may it be His will, Amen (end of tractate Sotah).
