באתי להודות לכ' עבור שימת לבבו והספרים ששלח לספרי' שלי, ותקותי שגם בעתיד יעשה כן, ואי אפשר למדרש בלי חידוש. ויהי רצון שילך מחיל אל חיל בעבודתו ביחוד בפרסום רעיונות תורת החסידות מתאים לתביעה שתובעים מכל אחד מאתנו שיהי' באופן של מוסיף והולך, ובפרט אשר ניתנה לכ' היכולת להביאם ולהחדירם בכמה חוגים שיש לו השפעה אישית בהם.
וכמו שמבואר בכ"מ, ובל' החסידות, שמכל ענין צריך להיות "בכן" בודאי גם זה ידגיש, שלמרות ההכרזה שרחמנא לבא בעי - מוכרח להיות המעשה בפועל, ולא עוד אלא שהמעשה והפועל הם ההוכחה על נכונות הלב ותמימותו, וכידוע ביאור כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר על הפתגם "אין חכם כבעל נסיון" (הובא בכמה מקומות בתורת החסידות, ולע"ע מצאתיו בעקידה שער י"ד, מעבר יבוק שער ב') שהנסיון והמעשה הם ההוכחה שחכם הוא.
ועל של עתה באתי בהודעה אשר בחבילה בפ"ע נשלח לכ' ספרי החסידות אשר הוצאנו לאור לאחרונה, ובהם שני ספרים מאמרי כ"ק רבנו הזקן הנדפסים מכת"י לראשונה. בשני ספרים אלו כמה מאמרים מהתקופה הראשונה, בנוסח הרגיל "מלפני פטרבורג", שאז היו המאמרים ברובא דרובא קצרים, ובל' כ"ק אדמו"ר (מהורש"ב) נ"ע "די מאמרים וואס פאר פ"ב האבן געברענט די ועלט; פאטשטן מלמעלה" (שיחת יט"כ תרס"ג, נדפס בס' תורת שלום).

I have come to thank you for your attention and for the sefarim you sent to my library, and I hope you will continue to do so in the future, for it is impossible to study without something new. May it be G‑d's will that you go from strength to strength in your work, especially in publicizing the ideas of Chassidus as is demanded from each of us—to always increase and progress—particularly since you have the ability to bring these ideas into and instill them within many circles where you have personal influence.
As explained in many places and in the language of Chassidus, from every matter there must be a 'bachen' (practical result); certainly this too will emphasize that despite the declaration 'Rachmana liba ba'i' (the Merciful One desires the heart), there must be actual deed. Moreover, action is the proof of the heart's sincerity and wholesomeness. As is well known from my father-in-law's explanation on the saying 'Ein chacham k'baal nisayon' (there is no wise man like one with experience)—brought in several places in Chassidus; for now I found it in Akeidah Shaar 14 and Maavar Yabok Shaar 2—that experience and action are proof that one is truly wise.
At this time I inform you that in a separate package I am sending you recently published Chassidic books, including two volumes of discourses by our Rebbe Hazaken printed from manuscript for the first time. In these two books are several discourses from the earliest period, in the usual style 'before Petersburg,' when most discourses were short. In the words of our Rebbe (Maharashab) of blessed memory: 'The discourses before Petersburg set the world on fire; they struck from above' (Yom Kippur eve farbrengen 5663, printed in Sefer Toras Shalom).

The Rebbe teaches that sincere intentions must be accompanied by concrete actions—true wisdom is proven through experience and deed. He encourages using one's influence to spread Chassidus ever more widely.
