Shalom u'Vrachah!

...Regarding what you wrote about the honorable proposal for your daughter... may she live, with an Avrech who is here—generally, the idea is sound. However, it is advisable that someone who knows both your daughter, may she live, and the Avrech, should give their assessment—meaning someone present here or who was here and saw them both—should offer their opinion in this matter. If their estimation is positive, then inquire further about the Avrech’s perspective on this. Thank you for what you wrote regarding the Melaveh Malka, and may it be G‑d’s will that through increased closeness of minds, the wellsprings will spread ever more in your surroundings, growing greater and greater until the fulfillment of the prophecy: 'U’Malah HaAretz Deah Es Hashem Kamayim Layam Mechasim' (and the earth shall be filled with knowledge of the L‑rd as water covers the sea) speedily in our days.

With blessing for good news,

M. Schneersohn
