מיט גרויס פארגעניגען האב איך באקומען אייער בריף אין וועלכען איר שרייבט ועוגען דער התועדות פון יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו יום גאולת רבנו הזקן, און ווי נשיאינו רבותינו הק' רופען אן דעם טאג ראש השנה ללימוד החסידות ולדרכי החסידות, און ראש השנה זאגט מען דאך לשנה טובה תכתב ותחתם, אזוי אויך י"ט כסלו בהנוגע צו די אויבען געזאגטע ענינים, וואס מדרכי החסידות איז דאך אויף עבודת השם יתברך בשמחה ובטוב לבב, און ווי דער געהויבענער ווארט פון בעל שם טוב, וואס מיר האבען געהערט פון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, צו דינען השם יתברך מיטן גוף צוזאמען, און ניט אפשטופען עם דורך תעניתים וסיגופים,
ויהי רצון אז איר זאלט שטענדיג אנזאגען גוטע בשורות מתוך בריאות הנכונה ועבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.

With great pleasure I received your letter in which you write about the farbrengen of the bright day, Yud-Tes Kislev, the day of liberation of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe. As our Nesi'im, our holy Rebbes, call this day: Rosh Hashanah for the study of Chassidus and for the ways of Chassidus. And on Rosh Hashanah we say 'L'Shanah Tovah Tikasev V'Seichasem' (May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year), so too is Yud-Tes Kislev regarding these aforementioned matters.
One of the ways of Chassidus is serving Hashem, blessed be He, with joy and gladness of heart. As is expressed in the uplifting words of the Baal Shem Tov, which we have heard from my father-in-law, the Rebbe: to serve Hashem, blessed be He, together with one's body and not to push it away through fasts and self-afflictions.
May it be His will that you should always share good news from within proper health and service of Hashem with joy and gladness of heart.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that Yud-Tes Kislev is a time to renew joyful service to G‑d. True Chassidus means serving Hashem with happiness and physical well-being, as taught by the Baal Shem Tov and passed down by our Rebbes.
