Shalom u'Vrachah!
With satisfaction I read your letter from the 27th of Tishrei, in which you write about the good resolution you and your partners made regarding matters of tzedakah. Since Hashem says, 'U'Bechanuni Na B'Zos' (Test Me now with this), which is also a language of request—that one should try Him—as He says earlier in the verse, 'Havi'u Es Kol HaMa'aser... V'Arikosi Lachem Brachah Ad Bli Dai' (Bring all the tithe... and I will pour out for you a blessing without limit). And although there is a halachic ruling: 'Lo Tenassun Es Hashem' (Do not test Hashem), tzedakah is an exception, where we are even asked to try. Therefore, one can be strong in trust that Hakadosh Baruch Hu will fulfill what was said about this, and you will be able to share good news regarding the sale of the houses and also that you and your partners fulfill your resolution with joy and gladness of heart.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that tzedakah is unique in allowing us to test Hashem’s blessing. By giving generously and trusting fully in Hashem’s word, we can expect positive outcomes both materially and spiritually.
