...נעם לי לקרות בסיום מכתבו אשר מיו"ח של הרה"צ הרה"ח הרה"ג ר' פנחס מקאריץ הם, וכפי שכותב בן אחר בן, וזה נותן לי התקוה אשר מכיר הוא בהזכות והאחריות של יורש, והרי בן אחר בן זהו אופן ירושה דאין לה הפסק, ואם בהנוגע לענינים גשמים הבן יורש את אביו את כל נכסיו, עאכו"כ בהנוגע לענינים רוחנים (אלא שבהם - כמדליק מנר לנר) ויעוין ג"כ עדיות סוף פרק ב' האב זוכה לבן כו' ומפרשים שם שאפילו ע"פ טבע כן הוא, עאכו"כ בעניני תורה ומצותי'. ובפרט שכפועל יוצא מהנ"ל בטח משתדל גם כן בהפצת מעינות החסידות בכל מקום שידו מגעת, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון ובפרט בתקופתנו שנראית התעוררות לב ישראל בכל החוגים וק"ל, וינעם לי להתבשר טוב מפעולותיו בהאמור והרי זכות אבותיו מסייעתו.
בהזדמנות זו אעוררו על שלשת השיעורים בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים, אשר כפי ששמענו כ"פ מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע שוים הם לכל נפש וסגולה לכו"כ ענינים.

It pleased me to read at the end of your letter that you are a descendant, son after son, of the righteous chassidic sage Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz, as you write. This gives me hope that you recognize both the merit and responsibility of being an heir. A son after son is a form of inheritance that has no interruption; if in material matters a son inherits all his father's possessions, how much more so regarding spiritual matters (which are like lighting one candle from another). See also Ediyot, end of chapter 2: "A father merits for his son," etc., and it is explained there that even according to nature this is so—how much more so in matters of Torah and mitzvos.
Especially as a result of the above, I am sure you also strive to spread the wellsprings of Chassidus wherever your influence reaches. Nothing stands in the way of willpower—especially in our times when there is an awakening among the hearts of Israel across all circles—and this is understood. I would be pleased to hear good news about your activities in this regard; surely the merit of your ancestors assists you.
On this occasion I would like to remind you about the three well-known daily study portions: Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—which we have heard many times from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal—that they are suited for every soul and serve as a segulah for many matters.
