Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter and your question: since you are living in cramped conditions, is it advisable to rent a new apartment even though this would put you into debt? Since our Sages say that a pleasant dwelling broadens a person's mind, and "if you have acquired understanding, what are you lacking," it is proper for you to move to a newer and more spacious apartment—of course, if your wife agrees. With this expanded peace of mind, you will gain strength in your most elevated work regarding family purity matters in Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land), and generally in all matters of Torah and mitzvos. As is well known from the explanation in Tikkunei Zohar (Tikkun 6) regarding our Sages' statement that a pleasant dwelling broadens one's mind.
Blessings for good news in all the above.
Regarding what you wrote about Tefillin of Rabbeinu Tam—I have not received anything on this matter. You should clarify this with the sofrim (scribes) among Anash in Eretz HaKodesh.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that moving to a more spacious home is worthwhile for mental well-being and spiritual growth, even if it involves financial strain—provided both spouses agree. A peaceful environment supports higher service in Torah and mitzvos.
