Shalom u'Vrachah!
With great surprise I learned of your custom to fast from time to time on Mondays and Thursdays, as well as on Erev Rosh Chodesh. This is despite the well-known instruction of the Baal Shem Tov that one should ensure the body is healthy so that it does not hinder the command to serve Hashem with joy. We see in our generation that frequent fasts weaken one's health and subsequently interfere with matters of mitzvos.
It is self-understood that this refers to fasts one takes upon oneself (but not those prescribed by Shulchan Aruch). If one specifically desires something like fasting, it is known that the directive of the Rebbe Maharash is that this can be accomplished by refraining from speaking unnecessary words—even when there is a strong desire to do so—and not only from lashon hara but even from idle talk. Fasting from food can also be achieved by eating things that are good for one's health, but not specifically seeking out foods with particularly tasty flavors.
I hope these few lines will suffice for you to properly adjust what was mentioned above. Since, as I understand it, you have practiced this more than three times, you need to perform hataras nedarim (annulment of vows) and then substitute food fasts with the aforementioned types of fasts.
May Hashem help you in all this, and together with your husband may you raise your son in the Chassidic way, in good health and happiness.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that maintaining physical health and serving Hashem with joy take precedence over voluntary fasting. Instead of self-imposed fasts, one should practice restraint in speech and choose healthy foods—aligning with Chassidic guidance for joyful service.
