נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מיום השני, בו כותב אודות אחדים שנפגש עמם והשתדלותו לקרבם לעניני תורה ומצות.
דא"ג אותו הבן שאמו מבנות ישראל משא"כ אביו וכו', בטח שאל הוראת רב באם לא נצרך הנ"ל לאיזה ענין של גירות[2], כמובן לאחרי שיוודע הפרטים בזה, אף שכמובן צריך להשתדל עמו בכל הענינים אודותם כותב, גם להבא, וביתר שאת, ועד"ז גם עם מר... שי' שהרי סו"ס הבטיחונו רז"ל אשר מצוה גוררת מצוה וככל שיוסיף בעשיית מצות בפועל תתקרב ג"כ התשובה שלו על שאר עניניו, ויעוין ג"כ הלכות ת"ת לרבנו הזקן פרק דלי"ת סעיף ג'[3], ובקונטרס אחרון שם[4], וגם הרב י"ל דצריך להכניס וכו' ובעניני מצות אין כלל ספק בזה כדמוכח שם.
נעם לי לקרות במכתבו אשר משתדלים ע"ד אסיפה בביתו לטובת כפר חב"ד מיסודו ובהנהלתו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר בודאי עי"ז מתוסף בברכות השי"ת בעניניו בכלל ובהרחבת הפרנסה ביחוד וע"ד שנאמר ובחנוני נא בזאת וגו' והריקותי לכם ברכה וגו' ובפרט [שבודאי] עושה ג"כ צנורות וכלים רחבים לקבלת ברכת השי"ת בזה, כוונתי קביעות עתים בלימוד תורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות, והשי"ת יצליחו לבשר טוב בכל האמור.

I was pleased to receive your letter from Monday, in which you write about several people you have met and your efforts to bring them closer to Torah and mitzvos.
Incidentally, regarding the son whose mother is from the daughters of Israel but his father is not, etc., you surely asked a rabbi for guidance as to whether this individual requires any matter of conversion—of course, after clarifying all the details. Even so, it is obvious that one should continue to work with him in all matters you wrote about, also in the future and with even greater strength. The same applies to Mr... since our Sages have assured us that one mitzvah brings another mitzvah. The more he increases his actual observance of mitzvos, his teshuvah regarding other matters will also draw closer. See also Hilchos Talmud Torah by our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe chapter 4 section 3 and in the Kuntres Acharon there; also some say it is necessary to include etc., and regarding mitzvos there is no doubt at all about this as is proven there.
I was pleased to read in your letter that efforts are being made regarding a gathering at your home for the benefit of Kfar Chabad—founded and directed by my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal—certainly through this additional blessings from Hashem will be drawn into your affairs in general and especially in expanded livelihood. As it says: "And test Me now with this...and I will pour out for you blessing..." (Malachi 3:10), especially since you are surely also making broad channels and vessels to receive Hashem's blessing in this—meaning setting fixed times for study of both revealed Torah and Chassidus—and may Hashem grant you success to share good news in all mentioned above.
