במענה למכתבו מכ"ג [ניסן], ולפלא ההפסק בכתיבה עד אז, אבל אין צועקין על העבר, ויה"ר שמכאן ולהבא תשתפר הנהגה זו.
בו כותב אודות לימודו עם הכתות, ובטח אף שאינו מזכיר עד"ז מחפש דרכים ואופנים להחדירם רוח חסידותי ויראת שמים אשר זה נעשה לא רק ע"י הלימוד אלא גם ע"י הדבור אין דעם ארום פון די ענינים, וע"י הנהגה המתאימה של מורה הכתה להיות דוגמא חיה להנהגה מתאימה לחסיד וירא שמים, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון ובפרט שזכות הרבים הם התלמידים והמושפעים מסייעתו..

In response to your letter from the 23rd [of Nissan], it is surprising that there was such a long break in writing until then; however, we do not cry over the past, and may it be G‑d's will that from now on this conduct will improve.
In it you write about your teaching with the classes, and surely, even though you do not mention this explicitly, you are seeking ways and methods to instill in them a Chassidic spirit and fear of Heaven. This is accomplished not only through study but also through speaking about these matters in an elevated way, and by the appropriate conduct of the class teacher—serving as a living example of proper behavior for a Chassid and one who fears Heaven. Nothing stands in the way of will—especially since the merit of the many (the students and those influenced) assists him.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that inspiring students with Chassidic values requires both words and personal example. When one truly desires to influence for good—especially when many are involved—success is assured with effort and sincerity.
