Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 6th of Shevat: At an auspicious time, your... will be mentioned for a blessing at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal lehe nbgm zya, for the improvement of his health. It is well known the saying of our Rebbeim and leaders: Tracht gut vet zein gut (Think good and it will be good), especially regarding his condition as you described in your letter; even the doctors fully agree with this. Certainly you will find the appropriate words to explain this matter of trust as explained in our holy books.
Additionally, increasing in matters of Torah and mitzvos according to his standing and situation—even if it is already good—since Torah and mitzvah are longer than the land and exceedingly broad is Your commandment, there is always room for more. This is even more necessary and understandable based on what is explained in many places in Chassidic discourses: that the soul of Moshe Rabbeinu ascended on high and resides in Gan Eden; yet even about him it is said: "Torah scholars have no rest... not even in the World to Come," learning Torah for thousands of years even though he received it at Sinai...
With blessings for good news.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that trust in G‑d brings positive outcomes, especially regarding health. Even when things are good, one should always increase in Torah and mitzvos. Sharing this perspective with others helps strengthen faith and brings additional blessings.
