נעם לי לקבל מכתבו בו כותב מיסוד אגודת תלמידי הישיבות ובודאי מטרת אגודה זו כלשון התפלה ויעשו כולם אגודה אחת לעשות רצונך בלבב שלם, וכשרוצים באמת מצליחים לא רק בהנוגע לעצמו אלא גם להשפיע על החברים ועל כל הסביבה שגם הם יעשו רצון המקום בלבב שלם, וכפי שכותב שקבל מנהגי חב"ד בודאי כוונתו להתנהג גם ברוח חב"ד אשר שנים מהיסודות בזה הם. ואהבת את ה' אלקיך וגו' ואהבת לרעך כמוך, תקותי שיתוסף גם עי"ז חיות ומרץ בהענין האמור ויה"ר שיהי' בהצלחה ויוסיף אומץ בלימוד תוה"ק וקיום מצותי' בהידור וגם על חבריו ישפיע בזה והשי"ת יצליחו לבשר טוב בכל האמור.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive your letter in which you write about the founding of the Yeshiva Students' Association. Certainly, the purpose of this association is as stated in the prayer: "And may they all form one group to do Your will with a complete heart." When one truly desires this, one succeeds not only regarding oneself but also in influencing friends and the entire environment so that they too will do the will of Hashem with a complete heart. As you write that you have adopted Chabad customs, surely your intention is also to conduct yourself in the spirit of Chabad, two of whose foundations are: "Ve'ahavta et Hashem Elokecha..." (And you shall love the L‑rd your G‑d...) and "Ve'ahavta l'reiacha kamocha" (And you shall love your fellow as yourself). I hope that through this there will be increased vitality and enthusiasm in this matter, and may it be G‑d's will that it be successful and add strength in studying our holy Torah and fulfilling its mitzvos with beauty—and that you also influence your friends in this regard. May Hashem grant you success to share good news about all of the above.
