במענה על מכתבו - בלא הוראת זמן הכתיבה - בו כותב אודות החפירות בבית שערים, ובטח בינתים נודע לו ממכתבי הרבנים באה"ק ת"ו בענין זה.
לפלא שאינו מזכיר דבר ע"ד מעמדו ומצבו בלימוד התורה והידור בקיום מצותי', והרי הם הן הצנור והכלים לכל עניני איש הישראלי, ובפרט של בן ישיבה, ובטח ימלא בהזדמנות קרובה, ויה"ר שיודיע גם כן שיש לו קביעות בלימוד פנימיות התורה שבדורנו זה נתגלתה בתורת החסידות המביאה את האדם לאהבתו ויראתו ית' (עיין רמב"ם הלכות יסוה"ת ריש פרק ב') המאפשר לו לקיים מצות אחדות השם (כיון שאז מבין מה ענין האחדות האמיתית) וכו' מצות תמידים בכל זמן ובכל מקום ובכל איש עם הישראלי. וכמובא בהקדמת ספר החינוך, ויהי רצון שיוסיף גם בקביעות זמן וכפסק דין דמעלין בקדש, וישפיע על חבריו בכגון דא.

In response to your letter—without indication of when it was written—in which you write about the excavations at Beit She'arim. Surely by now you have learned from the letters of the rabbis in Eretz HaKodesh about this matter.
It is surprising that you do not mention anything about your situation and standing in Torah study and meticulous mitzvah observance. These are the channels and vessels for all matters of a Jewish person, especially for a yeshiva student. Surely you will fulfill this in the near future. May it be His will that you also inform that you have set fixed times for studying the inner dimension of Torah—which in our generation has been revealed through Chassidus—bringing a person to love and awe of Him (see Rambam Hilchos Yesodei HaTorah beginning of chapter 2), enabling him to fulfill the mitzvah of unity of G‑d (since then he understands what true unity means), etc., mitzvos that are constant at all times, in every place, and for every Jew. As brought in the introduction to Sefer HaChinuch. May it be His will that you also increase in setting fixed times as ruled "one increases in holiness," and influence your friends likewise.
