לאחרי שתיקתו הכי ארוכה, מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו - מבלי הוראת זמן הכתיבה - בו כותב אודות אופן התחלתו לעסוק בהפצת היהדות בסביבתו, והמניעות שחלו בזה, ובודאי בהתבוננות המתאימה יש למצוא אופן להסיר המניעות ולעשות בהפצת היהדות בכלל ובהדרכות חסידיות, ובמשך הזמן גם בהפצת תורת החסידות.
ובפרט שמתקרב הסעזאן שאז מתקבצים אנשים מכמה מקומות בסביבתו, ופעולה עליהם מתפשטת אח"כ לכמה מקומות וחוגים, ויה"ר שיצליח בזה ובמדה הכי גדולה, וכבר נודע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר אז א שוחט איז ניט קיין סקאטאבאיעץ וכו' וכבר נאמר כ"פ בעת התועדות, שענין השחיטה הוא כמרז"ל תנדבר"י, אין ושחט אלא ומשך - להמשיך את הבהמה ולעשותה אדם, את הנה"ב במדריגת אדם התחתון ואדם התחתון אשר עליו נאמר בהמות הייתי עמך, כאדם העליון, וק"ל...

After your longest silence, I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter—without indication of when it was written—in which you write about how you began to engage in spreading Judaism in your surroundings, and the obstacles that have arisen. Surely, with proper contemplation, you will find a way to remove these obstacles and act in spreading Judaism in general, chassidic guidance, and over time also in spreading the teachings of Chassidus.
Especially as the summer season approaches, when people gather from various places in your area, and influencing them will then spread to many places and circles. May it be G‑d's will that you succeed in this to the greatest degree.
It is already known the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe: "A shochet is not a Skatabayetz," etc., and it has been stated many times at farbrengens that the matter of shechitah is as our Sages say (Tana D'bei Eliyahu), "Ein v'shachat ela v'mashach" (there is no 'and he slaughtered' except 'and he drew'), meaning to draw out the animal and make it into a person—the animal soul into the level of a lower person; and regarding this lower person it is said "Behemos hayisi imach" (I was like an animal with You), like Adam HaElyon (the Supernal Man), and this suffices for one who understands…
