מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו ממ"ג למטמונים והקודם לו, ובמ"ש אודות מצב הישיבה שלכן לפי דעתו ודעת איזה אנ"ש ד... אין אפשרית עתה להביא אברך מארצוה"ב (ובפרט שהוא נשוי - כי כמובן אין מקום לשלוח מכאן בחור שטרוד תיכף או יהי' טרוד בעוד איזה זמן קצר בעניני שידוכין).
הנה חסר העיקר במכתבו, ומעין המבואר בתורת החסידות שאע"פ של"ת תלוים בי"ה ומצות עשה בו"ה, בכל זה עשה דוחה ל"ת (עיין אגה"ק לרבנו הזקן בתחלתו, לקו"ת במדבר ס"פ בלק. ויקרא מה, ג. שה"ש מח, ד). וכאמור ע"ד הצחות, שאילו לא נברא העולם היו ג"כ נשמרים כל הלא תעשה, משא"כ בהנוגע למצות עשה.
- כוונתי שאינו כותב מי יחליף פעולות האברך דארצוה"ב, כיון שפעולות אלו מוכרחות הנה, ואין כוונתי בזה להביע טענה, אלא להדגיש עוד הפעם, שברור אשר ביכולת אנ"ש על אתר לא רק להחליף את הנ"ל שלא יגרע מהפעולות האמורות אלא שיכולתם מספיק גם להוסיף עליהם, ולכן עדיין לא נמצאו האמצעים להבאת אברך זה כיון שאין זה מוכרח להתפתחות הישיבה, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא ברצון אנ"ש כאו"א וכולם ביחד, ואחכה לבשו"ט.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from Lag BaOmer and the one before it, and regarding what you wrote about the state of your yeshivah according to your opinion and that of some of the local Anash—that it is not currently possible to bring an Avrech from overseas (especially since he is married—for obviously there is no place to send a bochur who is or will soon be occupied with shidduchim). Your letter lacks the main point, similar to what is explained in Chassidus: although negative commandments depend on Yud-Heh and positive commandments on Vav-Heh, nevertheless a positive commandment overrides a negative one (see Iggeres HaKodesh by the Alter Rebbe at its beginning; Likkutei Torah Bamidbar end of Parshas Balak; Vayikra 45:3; Shir HaShirim 48:4). And as has been said humorously: if the world had not been created, all the negative commandments would also have been kept, which is not so regarding positive commandments. My intention is that you did not write who would replace the activities of the Avrech from overseas, since these activities are necessary there. I do not mean this as a complaint but to emphasize again that it is clear that the local Anash are able not only to replace him so nothing will be lacking in these activities but also to add to them. Therefore, means have not yet been found to bring this Avrech since it is not essential for the development of the yeshivah. The matter depends only on the desire of each individual and all together among Anash. I await good news.
