I acknowledge receipt of your letter from 7 Shevat with its enclosure. Surely you utilized the day of the yahrzeit in an appropriate manner both regarding yourself and your influence on your entire environment. For this was the inner desire of the one whose yahrzeit it is, as stated in the Mishnah: "Ohev et haBriyot uMekarvan laTorah" (He loves G‑d's creatures and brings them close to Torah), even those who are called simply 'creatures' (Tanya ch. 32)—to bring them close to Torah, not to adapt or fit (tzupassen) the Torah to them, as was discussed at the farbrengen on the day of the yahrzeit...
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that our mission is to love every Jew and draw them closer to Torah itself—not by changing Torah for people, but by elevating people toward Torah, following the example set by tzaddikim.
