I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 4th of Shevat with the pan and enclosed notes. I also received your previous letter from the 1st of Tevet in due time. I hope that by the time you receive this letter, you have also received news about the improvement in your family's health.

Regarding what you wrote about radiation treatment for the head concerning health... As I believe I have already written once before, this treatment requires extra caution. There are several treatments that do not carry such responsibility, and some that at least do not carry as much responsibility, and whose results are more clearly known than those of radiation treatment.

Certainly you utilized the day of the hilulah in appropriate ways and matters—not only regarding students and teachers but also in your surroundings and city. As I believe I have already written, in general every one of Anash who is found anywhere should view himself as a shliach from our holy Nesi'im, and must spread their Torah, guidance, and customs throughout his environment, city, and country. As our Sages said: "One of you is exiled to Barbaria," etc.

And since this mission was placed upon each one of us, surely beforehand he was given the strengths to fulfill it properly and with an expansive mind.
