In response to your letter from Erev Rosh Chodesh Shevat, you bring good news that the matter regarding the apartment has been completed and that the deposit has already been given. May it be G‑d's will that this be a good and successful beginning, as well as a continued success, and may your home be a joyful dwelling both materially and spiritually, with gatherings for matters of Chassidus and spreading its wellsprings.

It is surprising that you do not mention anything in your letter about those you influence and your activities with them, even though I have already encouraged several of Anash regarding what is brought in Chassidus in many places—that everyone has a gate, meaning a particular mitzvah or area through which Torah, mitzvos, and all influences ascend and descend. For Anash and Temimim especially in our times, this refers to spreading the wellsprings outward. Therefore, requesting a blessing in any matter is connected to widening the gate, etc., and this should be understood.

Certainly you will utilize the day of the yahrzeit—Yud Shevat—as is fitting, and may it be G‑d's will that the inspiration drawn from it extend throughout the entire year.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that to receive greater blessings we must widen our personal spiritual 'gate,' especially by spreading Chassidus. Our efforts to inspire others open new channels for Divine influence in all areas of life.
