Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter in which you write about the Agudas Nshei U'Bnos Chabad in Cleveland. I was pleased to read in your letter your interest in the work of the Agudas Nshei U'Bnos Chabad and, more importantly, your personal involvement and that you also bring your friends and acquaintances.
It is self-evident that I agree with you that there is absolutely no reason, G‑d forbid, to despair. Jews and Judaism have gone through various difficulties over thousands of years of their existence, yet they continue to live by holding fast to Torah and its mitzvos. Many nations who were physically much stronger and far more numerous have left no trace or memory. This teaches us that even in the current situation, we must not be deceived by the yetzer hara's claim that it is hard to be a Jew. On the contrary, if one truly wants to be happy—not only in Olam Haba but also truly in Olam Hazeh—and to have true nachas from children, the only way for Jews is by holding fast and following the paths that the Creator and Leader of the entire world has shown us in His holy Torah. When one truly desires this, not only does one overcome all difficulties and succeed, but even those difficulties become smaller than imagined and throughout one's efforts they become ever smaller.
May Hashem Yisbarach grant you success in finding the right words to explain the above-mentioned ideas within your circle of friends and acquaintances. Through this, you will penetrate even deeper into the work of strengthening Judaism ever more widely and strongly. May this merit stand by you in all your personal matters.
Blessings, on behalf of the Lubavitcher Rebbe shlita, Secretary
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that Jewish endurance through history comes from unwavering commitment to Torah and mitzvos. Even when challenges seem great, perseverance leads not only to overcoming them but also to true happiness and fulfillment in both spiritual and personal life.
