במענה על מכתבו ממוצש"ק י"א כסלו, ולפלא ותמי' גדולה על הפסק הכי גדול בין מכתב אחד לחבירו, בה בשעה שעבודת הקדש על שכמו ובמילא מובן עד כמה משתוקקים לקבל ידיעות מפורטות אודות הנעשה בזה, ותקותי שעכ"פ מכאן ולהבא יתקן הנ"ל.
במ"ש אודות החילוק בחוות דעת הרופאים, הרי: א) כיון שהצד השוה בהם שעתה אין מקום לנתוח, הרי יגל לבם על זה, כי מה שמסיימים הרופאים מה שיהי' לאחר שנתים ושלש, הרי השי"ת הרופא כל בשר ומפליא לעשות, וסמכות הרופא הוא על אתר בהנהגה לפועל ולא להגיד עתידות...
ובמה דמסיים, אשר באמת הוא העיקר, וכמבואר באגה"ק סי' ז' אשר כל עניני האדם תלוי בהמצוה בה צריך להיות זהיר טפי, ובדידי' הוא התעסקותו עם התלמידים, שבזה תלוים לא רק עניניו הרוחנים אלא גם ענינים הנ"ל,
וכותב שאין לו סיפוק מהתלמידים כי מתחלפים הם וכו' ומה התועלת בזה, הנה: א) אפילו אם לומדים רק כמה חדשים, בודאי לומדים אתם באופן שיקבלו הלימוד ויוחקק בזכרונם, ובודאי יביא לפעולות. ב) והוא העיקר, שעליהם להתבונן איך לעניין (פאראינטערעסירען) יותר את התלמידים ולהמשיכם להלימודים ובעיקר לעניני חב"ד או עכ"פ למוסדות אהלי יוסף יצחק ליובאוויטש במילא יראו את האור כי טוב, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא בו ובשאר אנ"ש הנמצאים על אתר, ואחכה לבשו"ט גם בזה.

In response to your letter from Motzaei Shabbos Kodesh 11th of Kislev, it is surprising and quite astonishing that there is such a large gap between one letter and the next, especially since you bear the responsibility of holy work. It is therefore understood how much we yearn to receive detailed updates about what is happening in this regard, and I hope that at least from now on this will be corrected.
Regarding what you wrote about the difference in the doctors' opinions: a) Since their common conclusion is that now is not the time for an operation, let your heart rejoice over this. As for what the doctors say will be after two or three years—Hashem, Who heals all flesh and works wonders, has given authority to the doctor only regarding practical conduct here and now, not to predict the future...
And regarding what you conclude—which is truly the main point—as explained in Iggeres HaKodesh section 7, that all matters of a person depend on the mitzvah in which he must be especially careful; for you, this is your involvement with students. Not only your spiritual matters depend on this but also those mentioned above. You write that you have no satisfaction from the students because they change frequently etc., and question what benefit there is in this. So: a) Even if they study only a few months, surely you teach them in a way that they absorb the learning and it becomes engraved in their memory, which will certainly lead to results. b) And most importantly, you should consider how to interest (farinteresiren) the students more and draw them into their studies—especially into Chabad matters or at least into institutions of Oholei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch. As a result they will see "the light that it is good," and success depends only on you and the other Anash present there. I await good news about this as well.
