לפלא, אף שדרכם מאז כן הוא, שלא העירו וכתבו כלל בקשר עם האפשריות שנתחדשה להגיש ניירות דרישה בשביל אחינו אשר במדינתנו לפנים. ולמותר לבאר ולהאריך במרז"ל אשר כ"פ נשנה הציווי בתורתנו הק' תורת חיים בהנוגע לגר, וההסברה בזה, כי גרים הייתם, והנמשל מובן. ותקותי חזקה שעכ"פ עתה יבחרו או ימנו את מי מהם, שהוא יהי' המנצח על העבודה בזה, אם ברמ"ח אבריו עצמם או ע"י שלוחו - במקום ובענינים שאי אפשר בעצמו, וכיון שזהו ענין של פקוח נפשות במדה מסוימת, בודאי לא יתרשלו בזה ויגשו תיכף לעבודה בפועל, ולעת עתה הפניתי אליהם רק את הוו"ח כו' עובדי' שי' שטראקס מלונדון שו"ב. ואחכה לתוצאות פנייתו אליהם, ומה נעשה בו.
בקשר עם ראש השנה לחסידות ודרכי החסידות הממשמש ובא, הנה עוד הפעם נזכרתי על הפרטי כלים של כו"כ אסופות שנקראו ע"י אגו"ח בהנוגע לפעולות ממשיות וכל השקו"ט שהי' בעת האסיפות. וכבר בא העת שיעשה סך הכל מכל פעולות שנה העברה בכל הענינים שנדברו ונכתבו בהפ"כ ויסיקו מסקנות בהנוגע לשנה הבע"ל...
ויהי רצון שיזכני השי"ת ויצליחני לקבל בשורות טובות בכל האמור.

To the administration of Agudas Chabad in Eretz HaKodesh, may G‑d be upon them for life—Shalom u'Vrachah!
It is surprising, even though this has been your way until now, that you have not commented or written at all regarding the new opportunity to submit request papers for our brethren who were formerly in our country.
It is unnecessary to elaborate on what our Sages say—that the commandment concerning the ger (convert/sojourner) is repeated many times in our holy Torah, the Torah of Life—and its explanation: "for you were strangers," and the lesson is clear.
My strong hope is that at least now you will choose or appoint someone among you who will oversee this work, whether with his own efforts or through an agent—in places and matters where it is not possible personally. Since this is a matter of saving lives to a certain degree, surely you will not be negligent and will immediately begin practical work. For now, I have only referred Reb Ovadyah Shtraks from London to them as an emissary and shochet.
I await the results of his approach to them and what will be done about it.
In connection with Rosh HaShanah of Chassidus and the approaching ways of Chassidus, I am again reminded about the detailed records of many gatherings held by Aguch regarding practical activities and all the discussions that took place at those gatherings. The time has come to make a summary of all last year's activities in all matters discussed and written about at those meetings and to draw conclusions for the coming year...
May it be G‑d's will that He grant me merit and success to receive good news in all of the above.
