אין ענטפער אויף דיין בריף פון י"ד חשון, אין וועלכען דו שרייבסט אז דעם יאר אינטערסירסט זיך ניט אזוי ווי פאריגען יאר אין דעם לערנען מיט די תלמידות פון דער כתה, צוליב דעם וויילע זיי האבען ניט אזעלכע פעהיגקייטען צו אויפנעמען דעם לערנען אזוי ווי די פריערדיקע כתה.
והנה, עס איז פארשטענדליך אז אדרבה, דער ענין דארף צוגעבען נאך מער חשק און מער ווי געוויינליכען אינעטרעס צו אוועקשטעלען די תלמידות אויף דער געהעריקער הויך, כי הרי זה כל האדם לתקן חלקו בעולם, אין איינקלאנג מיט זיינע כשרונות וועלכע השם יתברך האט אים געשאנקען, בפרט א כשרון אין חינוך און השפעה אויף יוגענט, איז דאס דאך דער תכלית פון זיין באשאפונג צו מערען ליכטיגקייט אין וועלט דורך פארשפרייטען נר מצוה תורה אור, ולפום צערא אגרא, אז דוקא אזעלכע תלמידות וואס זייערע כשרונות זיינען ניט אזוי ענטוויקעלט, זיינען זיי דער חלק היפה צו ערפילען מיט זיי דעם רצון הבורא ומדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה אלא שכמה פעמים ככה, אז ווען מען ערפילט דעם רצון פון השם יתברך, חאטש דער יצר הרע פּרובירט איינריידין אז דאס איז א שווערע זאך, איז דענסטמאל הקב"ה טוט דעם רצון האדם צו ערפילען זיינע גוטע האַרץ פארלאנגען.
ויהי רצון אז מיט א צוגאב כח און לעבעדיקייט זאלסט דו זיך אינטערעסירע אין דער פארבעסערונג פון דעם מצב הכתה און זי זאל שטייגען מדרגא לדרגא און זאלסט זעהן פרי טוב אין דיין ארבעט, ומצוה גוררת מצוה אז דו זאלסט קענען אנזאגען בקרוב אז די תלמידות זיינען עושות חיל, און אז השם יתברך האט דיר געמאכט געפינען דיין גוטען זיווג פאר דיר, גוט בגשמיות און גוט ברוחניות גם יחד.

Blessing and greetings!
In response to your letter of the 14th of Cheshvan, in which you write that this year you are not as interested as last year in teaching the students of your class, because they do not have the same abilities to absorb the learning as the previous class.
Now, it is understandable that, on the contrary, this situation should give you still more eagerness and more than usual interest to raise the students to the proper level. For "כי זה כל האדם" — "this is the whole of man" (Koheles 12:13): to rectify his portion in the world in accordance with the talents that G‑d, may He be blessed, has granted him. Especially a talent in education and in influencing young people: this is surely the purpose of one's creation — to increase light in the world by spreading "נר מצוה ותורה אור" — "a mitzvah is a lamp and the Torah is light" (Mishlei 6:23). And "לפום צערא אגרא" — "according to the effort is the reward" (Avos 5:23): precisely such students, whose abilities are not so developed, are "the choice portion" (cf. Rashi on Devarim 30:19) with whom to fulfill the will of the Creator. And the way of the Holy One, blessed be He, is "measure for measure" (Sanhedrin 90a), only many times over (cf. Sotah 11a): when one fulfills the will of G‑d, may He be blessed — even though the yetzer hara tries to persuade you that it is a hard thing — then the Holy One, blessed be He, does the will of man and fulfills his heart's good desires.
May it be His will that with added strength and vitality you take an interest in improving the state of the class, that it rise from level to level, and that you see good fruit from your work. And "מצוה גוררת מצוה" — "one mitzvah brings another" (Avos 4:2): may you be able to report soon that the students "עושות חיל" — are "doing valiantly" (cf. Mishlei 31:29), and that G‑d, may He be blessed, has let you find your good match, good materially and good spiritually together.
