נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מז' חשון, בו כותב אודות הפעולות הטובות דתלמידי תו"ת - בחזרת דא"ח ומצוה בזמנה בענין הד' מינים וכו', ויה"ר שיקוים בכאו"א מהם מאמר רבנו הזקן על הכתוב וצדקה תרומם גוי, שנעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה, וכמבואר בתו"א בתחלתו ובלקו"ת לג' פרשיות בהגהה שם.
במ"ש שהענינים הנ"ל צריך להקדיש בשבילם גם זמן שהי' יכול לנצל בלימוד לעצמו, וכן ע"ד הצעת הישיבה לקחת חלק בחינוך תלמידי כתות הצעירות בישיבת תו"ת, הנה גודל ענינים אלו אין צריכים ביאור ואריכות, לאידך גיסא, מובן ג"כ שעל תלמיד הישיבה ללמוד בהתמדה ושקידה, ושני העסקים כאחד טובים, וכמה זמן להקדיש לכל אחד מהם, אין כל הזמנים והאישים שוים ובכן עליהם להתייעץ וביחד עם הר"מ והר"י, ויה"ר מהשי"ת שיכוין אל לבם לשמים שאז יצליחו בשני הענינים גם יחד.
מ"ש שישנם אברכים כאלה שאין רוצים ללכת לחזור דא"ח - הנה פליאה ותמי' על תלמידי ישיבת תו"ת העדר רצון בזה, שהוא היפך רצון נשיאינו הק', ומזה מובן שע"י העדר רצון זה מחסר בעניני עצמו יותר מבעניני המושפעים. וצריכים היו להתאסף ביחד ולקבל החלטות טובות בזה, שאז בטח יהי' להם קיום וע"פ המבואר בד"ה החלצו. והשי"ת יזכהו לבשר טוב בכל האמור לעיל.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive your letter from the 7th of Cheshvan, in which you write about the good activities of the Toharas Temimim students—reviewing Chassidus and fulfilling mitzvos at their proper time regarding the four species, etc. May it be G‑d's will that in each one of them be fulfilled the saying of our Alter Rebbe on the verse 'uTzedakah Teromem Goy' (and charity will uplift a nation), that their minds and hearts become refined a thousand times more so, as explained at the beginning of Torah Ohr and in Likutei Torah on three parshiyos in the gloss there.
Regarding what you wrote—that for these matters one must dedicate even time that could have been used for one's own study, and similarly about the yeshivah's suggestion to take part in educating younger classes in Toharas Temimim—the greatness of these matters needs no explanation or elaboration. On the other hand, it is also understood that a yeshivah student must learn with diligence and perseverance. Both pursuits are good together. How much time to devote to each depends on individual circumstances; not all times or people are alike. Therefore, they should consult together with the mashpia and rosh yeshivah. May it be G‑d's will that He direct their hearts for the sake of Heaven; then they will succeed in both matters together.
Regarding what you wrote—that there are Avrechim who do not want to go review Chassidus—this is astonishing and surprising regarding students of Toharas Temimim: this lack of desire is contrary to the will of our holy leaders. From this it is understood that through this lack of desire one loses more for oneself than for those being influenced. They should gather together and make good resolutions about this; then certainly these resolutions will endure, as explained in the discourse 'Heichaltzu.' May G‑d grant you to share good news regarding all the above.
