איך וויל אויסניצען די געלעגענהייט און אויפמרעקזאם מאכען דיר, אז וויבאלד דיינע עלטערען האבען מסכים געווען אז דו זאלסט לערנען ענגליש אויף א פּריוואטען אופן, האסט דו פון דיין זייט געדארפט משתדל זיין זיך אין דעם אז דער לערנען זאל זיין בהצלחה, דאס הייסט אז דו זאלסט קענען ריידין און שרייבען די לאנדס שפּראך ווי געהעריג, און אזוי ווי יעדער זאך פון לערנען איז אויף דעם געזאגט געווארן יגעת ומצאת, און זיכער אז מיט דער צייט וועט מען קענען אויסניצען די ידיעות ניט נאר אין ענינים פון פרנסה גשמית, נאר אויך אין ענינים פון פרנסה רוחנית, וכנראה במוחש, אז עס זיינען דא אזעלכע וועלכע זיינען פועל אויף דער סביבה דורך דעם וואס זיי באהערשען די לאנדעס שפּראך ווי געהעריג, וואס בנד"ז מיינט דאס ענגליש, און איך האף צו הערען פון דיר אז דו טוסט אזוי און לערנסט די שפּראך און עס גייט ווי געהעריג איז.
בייגעלייגט איז דא א קובץ וועלכער איז ערשט ערשינען, און זיכער וועסט דו קענען אויסניצען זיין אינהאלט אין דיין סביבה פאר החזקת והפצת היהדות.

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 10th of Cheshvan with its enclosure. I am a bit surprised that you did not mention how your study schedule has been arranged during this period; hopefully you will write about this on the next occasion.
I want to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the fact that since your parents have agreed that you should study English privately, it is incumbent upon you to make an effort so that your studies will be successful. This means you should be able to speak and write the language of the country properly. As with every area of learning, it is said: Yagata u'Matzata ("If you toil, you will find"). Certainly with time you will be able to use this knowledge not only for matters of material livelihood but also for spiritual livelihood. It is evident in practice that there are those who influence their environment precisely because they master the language of the country properly—which in this case means English. I hope to hear from you that you are doing so and learning the language as appropriate.
Enclosed is a booklet which has just been published; surely you will be able to use its contents in your environment for strengthening and spreading Judaism.

Summary
