I acknowledge receipt of your letter from around Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan. You write that the leaven in the dough of Eretz Yisrael is an obstacle. However, it is well known from our sages that the atmosphere and soil of Eretz Yisrael are pure. If leaven is found, it is not in the dough of Eretz Yisrael—this should be understood. The ruling of our sages, 'Lefum gamla shichna' (the load is in proportion to the camel), applies both to those living in the Holy Land and to Anash, chassidim, and temimim everywhere. To elaborate on such a simple matter would be superfluous...
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that spiritual challenges are matched to our abilities; we should not seek excuses but recognize that we are equipped for our unique tasks, especially in Eretz Yisrael.
