Every awakening at its beginning is mostly light, and therefore one stands with open excitement and vitality. But its purpose is that it should lead to actual deed, day by day—that is, "to clothe the light in vessels." Therefore, it is necessary for the excitement to become concealed, and the vitality not to be so strongly felt—only the actual deed remains. This is the goal.
And one should not listen to the enticement of the yetzer hara that this concealment should bring him to sadness, G‑d forbid. Rather, he should work in an orderly fashion—many lights in many vessels specifically.
The order in holiness is "little by little I will drive them out," both in Torah study and mitzvah observance (including Ahavas Yisrael), not all at once or with a leap [except in special cases].
For all this, a healthy body is necessary; therefore, one must behave accordingly regarding eating, drinking, sleep, etc. As Tanya chapter 7 says: ["One who eats fatty meat of ox... to broaden his mind for G‑d and His Torah... as an offering and sacrifice"].
And since Torah gives permission to a doctor—when there is any doubt or discomfort about this, one must ask him and follow his instructions.
When proceeding step by step in all the above, one succeeds spiritually—and consequently also materially. And Hashem commanded us to have joy in all this; it is clearly seen that everything done with joy is done more completely and beautifully. It also benefits health overall...
Summary
Inspiration must be channeled into steady daily action; even when excitement fades, gradual progress with order leads to true success. Maintaining physical health and serving with joy are essential for both spiritual and material well-being.
