איך האב מיט פארגעניגען באקומען די ידיעה וועגן דעם קאמפיין וואס ווערט אנגעהויבן די נייע וואך, צו שאפן די נויטיקע פינאנציעליע הילף פאר דער ישיבה תומכי-תמימים ליובאוויטש אין מאנטרעאל. און דערמיט דריק איך אויס מיין הארציקע באגריסונג צו אלעמען, בכלל ובפרט, וועלכע נעמען א חלק אין דער דאזיקער יערלעכער אונטערנעמונג, און שיק מיין אינערלעכן וואונש, אז השי"ת זאל מצליח זיין בהצלחה גדולה.
בא יעדער אונטרנעמונג, און בפרט ווען עס האנדלט זיך וועגן דער צוקונפט פון אזא לעבנסוויכטיקן מוסד, ווי די ליובאוויטשער ישיבה אין מאנטרעאל, איז כדאי אריינצוטראכטן זיך וואס דער דאזיקער מוסד באדייט, ניט נאר פאר די הונדערטע תלמידים, כן ירבו, נאר אויך פאר מאנטרעאלער און קאנאדער אידנטום.
אויב אין אמאליקע צייטן איז א ישיבה געווען ניט נאר א בית-אולפנא צו לערנען תורה, נאר אויך א מוסד חינוך, וואו דער תלמיד ווערט דורכגעדרונגען מיט דעם גייסט פון תורה, איז אין אונזערע צייטן נאך וויכטיקער אז נוסף אויף די ידיעות אין תורה ויהדות, זאל זיך דער תלמיד אנזאפן מיט דער ליכטיקייט פון תורת-חיים, נר מצוה ותורה אור, און מיט א געפיל פון מסירות נפש און אחריות פאר דער גייסטיקער ירושה פון אונזער פאלק. דאס איז דער אינערלעכער כאראקטער פון דער ליובאוויטשער ישיבה תומכי-תמימים, און אירע תלמידים צייכנען זיך אויס דערמיט וואס ארויסגייענדיק פון די פיר ווענט פון דער ישיבה, ווייסן זיי אז זיי דארפן זיין "נרות להאיר", צו פארשפריייטן די ליכטיקייט פון תורה און מצוות, אין טאג-טעגלעכן לעבן ארום זיך.
גרויס איז דער זכות פון די עסקנים, אנשי מעשה און אלע אנטיילנעמער אין דעם קאמפיין פאר דער ליובאוויטשער ישיבה אין מאנטרעאל. עס איז ניט גענוג צו העלפן דער ישיבה, אנצוהאלטן איר עקזיסטענץ; מען דארף איר אויך געבן די מעגלעכקייט צו וואקסן און אנטוויקלען זיך, ווי יעדע לעבעדיקע זאך וואס דער סימן פון לעבן איז צו זען אין וואוקס און אנטוויקלונג.
איך האף, אז יעדער איינער וועט טאן מיט דער פאסענדער איבערגעבנהייט און ענערגיע, במילא וועט עס זיכער זיין מיט הצלחה, און וועט ברענגען ברכה והצלחה יעדן איינעם ובני-ביתו שי' אין וואס זיי נויטיקן זיך בגשמיות וברוחניות.

I received with pleasure the news about this campaign which is beginning this coming week to provide the necessary financial assistance for Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch in Montreal. With this, I express my heartfelt greetings to everyone involved, both collectively and individually, who are taking part in this annual initiative. I send my inner wish that Hashem should grant great success in every undertaking.
In every endeavor—and especially when it concerns the future of such a vital institution as the Lubavitch Yeshiva in Montreal—it is worthwhile to reflect on what this institution means not only for its hundreds of students (may they multiply), but also for Jewish life in Montreal and Canada as a whole. If in earlier times a yeshiva was not only a place to study Torah but also an educational institution where students were imbued with the spirit of Torah, then in our times it is even more important that, beyond knowledge of Torah and Judaism, students should absorb the light of Toras Chaim (the Torah of Life), Ner Mitzvah v'Torah Or (a mitzvah is a lamp and Torah is light), and develop a sense of self-sacrifice and responsibility for our people's spiritual heritage.
This is the inner character of Lubavitcher Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim: its students distinguish themselves by knowing that when they leave its four walls, they must be "candles to illuminate," spreading the light of Torah and mitzvos into everyday life around them.
Great is the merit of those activists, men of action, and all participants in this campaign for the Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Montreal. It is not enough to help maintain its existence; one must also give it the opportunity to grow and develop—just as every living thing shows signs of life through visible growth and development.
I hope that everyone will act with proper dedication and energy; consequently, it will surely be successful and will bring blessing and success to each one and their household in all their material and spiritual needs.
