I was pleased to hear that you were the ones who took action in sending out awakening letters to organize the farbrengen on the bright day of Yud Tes Kislev, may it come upon us for good—the day of our redemption and the liberation of our souls through the victory and redemption of our Rebbe, the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya (the authority in the hidden aspects of Torah) and Shulchan Aruch (the authority in the revealed aspects of Torah). It is well established that such efforts are never in vain. Fortunate is the lot of all those who act and participate in this.

It is already known from Chassidus the explanation on the Mishnah about two people holding a tallis—one says “it’s all mine” and the other says “it’s all mine,” as explained elsewhere and among them in Kuntres Limud HaChassidus chapter 12. The same applies here—especially since it is truly possible for both parties to have it all, similar to what is explained regarding lighting one candle from another.

May Hashem grant you merit and success in these matters also going forward, specifically according to the interpretation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, as brought in our Sages’ language: one who is involved with Torah or mitzvah should act like a businessman who does not wait for customers to come but actively seeks out business with appropriate effort. So too should your conduct be in this matter—and then you are assured that “you have labored and found” will be with success.
