מכתב כת"ר מכ"ח אלול נתקבל באיחור קצת ונתאחר המענה שלי מפני החגים ומועדים דחודש תשרי ומרוב הטרדה העמוסה עלי, ואת כת"ר הסליחה.
הרה"ג והרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"מ עוסק בצרכי צבור בעל מרץ ורב פעמים וכו' מוהר"ר בנימין אלי' שי' מסר לי מפרטי מצבם, והננו מחפשים אדם מתאים לנסוע למחנם להוציא לפועל ענין הקמת בית מדרש לרבנים בעזר השי"ת.
וברצותי להשתתף בעבודת החזקת התורה והיהדות במחנם הט' כפי שידי מגעת צויתי להמציא להם מקופתנו סכום של חמשים אלף פרנק בתור עזר חד-פעמי, ומי יתן ויכולתי לעשות אלף פעמים ככה, אבל דא עקא שאין הקומץ מספיק.
והנני מקוה לקבל ידיעות טובות מכת"ר ומעבודתם הטובה לשמור משמרת הקדש מסורת אבותיהם ואבותינו הק' והרבצת תורה ביראת שמים טהורה וקיום מצוותי' בפועל, וסייעתא דשמיא תהא בסעדהון.

Your letter from the 28th of Elul was received with some delay, and my response was also delayed due to the holidays and festivals of Tishrei and because of the heavy workload upon me; I ask your forgiveness.
Haraha"g veHaraha"ch vavac"h iy"a nu"m who is energetically involved in communal needs many times etc. Moharar Binyamin Eliyahu sh.y. informed me about details of your situation, and we are searching for a suitable person to travel to your camp to implement the establishment of a Beis Midrash for Rabbanim with the help of Hashem.
Desiring to participate in supporting Torah and Judaism in your precious camp as much as I am able, I have instructed that a sum of fifty thousand francs be provided from our fund as a one-time assistance. If only I could do this a thousand times over; but alas, "the handful does not suffice."
I hope to receive good news from you and about your good work—guarding the holy tradition passed down from your ancestors and ours, spreading Torah with pure fear of Heaven, and fulfilling mitzvos in practice. May Divine assistance be with you all.
