נהניתי בקבלת מכתבו מכ"א אלול בו כותב אודות מצבו הגשמי, וכבר כתבתי לו שגלגל החוזר הוא ובמילא אין להתפעל כלל וכלל ואדרבה גודל הבטחון והשמחה ימהרו השינוי לטוב כמובן ג"כ ממ"ש בזהר הק' חלק ב' דף קפ"ד ע"ב ד"ה תא חזי.
ומ"ש אודות השתתפותו בעבודת הכלל שלי כו', הנה זהו עבודת הכלל שלו ושל כל המשתתפים שהם העושים וגומרים הדברים בפועל וזכות הרבים תלוי בהם. ומה שנדמה לו שעושה את זה רק בדרך קבלת עול ואין לו עדיין בזה תענוג, הנה יעויין ברמב"ם הלכות גרושין סוף פרק ב'. והשי"ת יצליחו בכל הנ"ל.
ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ולכל אשר לו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive your letter from the 21st of Elul in which you write about your material situation. I have already written to you that life is a revolving wheel and therefore there is absolutely no reason to be disturbed; on the contrary, increased trust and joy will hasten the positive change, as is also clear from what is written in Zohar HaKadosh vol. II p. 184b, beginning "Ta Chazi."
Regarding what you wrote about participating in my communal work etc., this is actually your communal work and that of all the participants—they are the ones who actually accomplish and complete things in practice, and the merit of the many depends on them.
If it seems to you that you are doing this only as an act of accepting the yoke (kabbalat ol) and do not yet have pleasure in it—see Rambam Hilchot Gerushin at the end of chapter 2.
May Hashem grant you success in all of the above.
As we approach the new year coming upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all yours: a blessing for being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year materially and spiritually.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that communal achievements are shared by all who participate. Even if one serves out of duty rather than pleasure, perseverance leads to true fulfillment. Trust in G‑d and joy hasten positive change; blessings are given for a good year ahead.
