במענה על מכתבו מכ"א אלול, הנה כבקשתו אזכירו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע לכתיבה וחתימה טובה.
ומה ששואל חוות-דעתי אודות ענין דכיסוי הראש, פליאה לי על השאלה בזה, ובפרט בצורתה כמו שכותב שתלבש פארוק שכל הראש יהי' מכוסה רק שתי אצבעות מלפנים מגולים, שאינו מובן את מי רוצים לרמות בזה, דפשיטא שלא את הכל יכול ואפילו לא את העולם, כי אם את עצמו. ומה תועלת בכגון דא.
ומובן שזהו רק בתור סניף דסניף כי הרי הדין מפורש בשו"ע ובמילא אין מקום לשאלה וספק, ומובטחני שבדרכי נועם בפעם אחר פעם הדבור בזה תסכים המדוברת לדעתו הרצוי' בזה.
ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה הרי יכתב ויחתם לשנה טובה ומתוקה וינצל השפעתו בסביבתו בתוככי אנשי חיל לעשותם חילים בצבאות ה'.

In response to your letter from the 21st of Elul, as you requested I will mention you at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, for a good inscription and sealing in the Book of Life.
Regarding your request for my opinion about the matter of hair covering: I am surprised by this question, especially in the way you describe it—that you would wear a wig that covers all the head except for two fingers' width at the front left exposed. It is not clear whom one intends to fool with this; obviously not the Omnipotent One and not even other people—only oneself. What benefit is there in such behavior? Clearly this is only a remote leniency, since the law is explicit in Shulchan Aruch and therefore there is no room for doubt or question. I am confident that with pleasantness and repeated conversation on this topic, the person involved will agree with your desired view on this matter.
As we approach the new year coming upon us and all Israel for good: may you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year. Use your influence among those around you—within a group of men of valor—to make them soldiers in the army of Hashem.
