בנועם מאשר הנני קבלת החוברת הרמב"ם והזהר שכבדני בה, אשר כמעשהו בראשונים כן מעשהו בחוברת זו לעשות אזנים לתורה ע"י קישור חבל בחבל ומרז"ל במרז"ל להאיר עיני הלומדים ע"י מראה מקומות, ובפרט שלקח לו ספר הזהר שהי' מוזנח בענינים אלו ביותר, ובודאי גם על להבא ימשיך בזה. ויה"ר שחפץ ה' בידו יצליח להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה.
ובהזדמנות זו הנה אדגיש ג"כ במה שהוסיף תושי' בניצוציו בזהר חדש שהגיעני מכבר שניכר בהם שיפור לגבי ניצוציו על הזהר, ובטח יכבדני ג"כ בשאר ספריו שהו"ל בשנה האחרונה לבד ספר הבהיר וזהר חדש שהגיעוני וכנ"ל.
כדרכי הנני בזה באיזה הערות בשולי הגליון[2].

With pleasantness I acknowledge receipt of the Rambam and Zohar booklet you honored me with. As with your earlier works, so too in this booklet you make 'ears for the Torah' by connecting link to link and statement of our Sages to statement of our Sages, illuminating the eyes of learners through source references—especially as you have taken up the Zohar, which has been particularly neglected in this regard. Certainly you will continue this in the future as well. May it be G‑d's will that your efforts succeed in increasing and glorifying Torah.
On this occasion I also wish to emphasize what you added in your Tosafos on Zohar Chadash that reached me recently; there is a noticeable improvement compared to your Tosafos on the Zohar. Surely you will honor me as well with your other books published this past year besides Sefer HaBahir and Zohar Chadash which I have already received as mentioned above.
As is my custom, I am including here some comments in the margins.
As we approach the new year that is coming upon us and all Israel for good, I extend my blessing for a good inscription and sealing for a good and sweet year and success in your endeavors.
