במענה על מכתבו בו כותב אשר מרגיש עצמו במצב נמוך אף כי נמצא בישיבת תומכי תמימים. הנה כבר ידוע מרז"ל לא יגעת ומצאת אל תאמין, והיגיעה אינה שוה בכל אחד ואחד כי היא לפי הכח שנתנו לו ולפי הצורך של גופו ונפשו הבהמית הוא דוקא, ובמילא הנה ילמוד במסירה ונתינה אמיתית ואז יצליח בלימודו בתורת הנגלה ובתורת החסידות, ולמותר להוסיף שכל אחד ואחד נצרך לסייעתא דשמיא שזהו שאנו אומרים בעבודת התפלה בברכה הראשונה שמבקשים הצרכים: חננו מאתך חכמה בינה ודעת, ולכן מוכרחת עב' התפלה.

In response to your letter in which you write that you feel yourself in a low state even though you are in Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim.
It is already well known from our Sages: "If you did not toil and found [success], do not believe it." The required effort is not the same for everyone; it is according to the strength given to each person and according to the needs of his body and animal soul specifically. Therefore, study with true dedication and self-sacrifice, and then you will succeed in your study of both the revealed Torah and Chassidus.
It is unnecessary to add that everyone needs Heavenly assistance. This is what we say during prayer in the first blessing when we request our needs: "Grant us from You wisdom, understanding, and knowledge." Therefore, prayerful service is essential.
