... Regarding which tractate to study in the coming winter session, it is well known from our Sages that a person should always study in a place his heart desires. If the students are inclined toward a particular tractate, it is worthwhile to fulfill their request—provided there are enough available Gemaras for this tractate, etc.

And regarding his birthday: May it be G‑d's will that this year be one of success both spiritually and materially, in his general matters of work—work for Heaven—and also in his personal matters, with proper health.

Perhaps he has seen the maamar "Adonai Sefasai Tiftach" from 11 Nissan 5712, which is based on the maamar "Adonai Sefasai Tiftach" found in Maamarei Moharash 5627. It is worth noting and illuminating that as explained in Tanya Kadisha chapter 26, and in chapter 51 of Tehillim, its theme is to come to true joy in Hashem.
