במענה על מכתבו מי"ג תמוז, ולפלא שאין מזכיר בכל מכתבו שזהו יום גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע נשיא ישראל אשר נתקבל בתפוצות ישראל ליום התעוררות והתחזקות בהפצת היהדות בכלל ותורת החסידות הדרכותי' ומנהגי' בפרט אשר ע"ז נאסר אז ומסר נפשו משך ימי חייו עלי אדמות.
בו כותב אשר רוצה להתקשר וכו' ומבקש ברכה בלימוד התורה וכו', הנה בידו הדבר וכמבואר אופני ההתקשרות בכמה מקומות וכללותם הוא לימוד תורת החסידות והליכה והנהגה בהדרכותי' ומנהגי' ולהשפיע על חבריו וסביבתו בכלל בכיוון זה כיון שאהבת ישראל היא הכלי לואהבת את ה' אלקיך שהיא היסוד כל התורה, ולא המדרש עיקר אלא המעשה לקבוע מכאן ולהבא שיעורים בכל יום בלימוד תורת החסידות - ומהן קודם התפלה - ובפרט בש"ק ולהדר בקיום המצות וכמבואר בספרי החסידות ובמאמרים באריכות וכבר פסקו רז"ל לא יגעת ומצאת אל תאמין יגעת ומצאת תאמין.

In response to your letter from the 13th of Tammuz, it is surprising that you do not mention anywhere in your letter that this is the day of redemption of my revered teacher and father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal lehe nbgm zya, leader of Israel. This day has been accepted throughout the Jewish world as a day of awakening and strengthening in spreading Judaism in general and the teachings and customs of Chassidus in particular. For this he was imprisoned at that time and devoted his life throughout his days on earth.
You write that you wish to connect, etc., and request a blessing for Torah study, etc. This matter is in your hands. As explained in many places, the general way to connect is through studying Chassidus and conducting oneself according to its guidance and customs—and to influence your friends and environment in this direction. Since Ahavas Yisrael is the vessel for "Ve'ahavta es Hashem Elokecha" (loving Hashem your G‑d), which is the foundation of all Torah—and "not study but action is primary"—you should establish from now on fixed times every day for studying Chassidus (including before prayer), especially on Shabbos Kodesh; and be meticulous in fulfilling mitzvos as explained at length in Chassidic texts and discourses. Our Sages have already ruled: "If you did not toil and found [success], do not believe; if you toiled and found [success], believe."

P.S. It seems puzzling: since your father is an alumnus of Yeshivas Toras Emes and follows Chabad customs—as you write in your letter—and you wish to connect, why then are you not studying in one of the Chabad Yeshivos in Eretz HaKodesh?
