בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מיום ששי לסדר חקת התורה בו מבשר טוב אשר בנו יוסף שי' נכנס בברית המצות וגם דרש בתורה"ק מענינא דיומא ובמאמרי זהר הק'. ויהי רצון מהשי"ת שמבן שלש עשרה למצות יגיע לבן חמש עשרה לגמרא וכו' וכו' וכפסק תוה"ק והוא וזוגתו שיחיו ירוו ממנו ומכל ב"ב רוב נחת. ולפלא קצת שאינו מזכיר במכתבו אשר הבר מצוה כלל בדרשתו גם דברי תורת החסידות אף שבודאי ידוע לו הכתוב במכתב כ"ק הבעל שם טוב הקדוש אשר בראש השנה תק"ז עלה להיכל המשיח ושאלו אימתי קאתי מר וענה משיח צדקנו לכשיפוצו מעינותיך חוצה היא תורת החסידות וכמבואר בארוכה בשיחת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע צי"ע בשמחת תורה ת"ר צדיק.

I pleasantly received your letter from Friday, for the portion of Chukas HaTorah, in which you share good news that your son Yosef has entered the covenant of mitzvos and also delivered a derasha in the holy Torah on matters relevant to the day and on passages from the holy Zohar. May it be G‑d's will that from a boy of thirteen for mitzvos he will reach fifteen for Gemara, etc., etc., as ruled in our holy Torah, and that you and your wife will derive much nachas from him and all your family.
It is somewhat surprising that you do not mention in your letter that the Bar Mitzvah derasha included any words of Toras HaChasidus, even though you surely know what is written in a letter by the Baal Shem Tov at the beginning of Rosh Hashanah 5507 (1746), when he ascended to the chamber of Mashiach and asked him: "When will the Master come?" And Mashiach answered: "When your wellsprings will spread outward"—this is Toras HaChasidus—as explained at length in a sicha by my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, on Simchas Torah 5600 (1839).
