Shalom u'Vrachah!
I pleasantly received your letter from Thursday of Korach, in which you write about what you have experienced since your arrival in Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land), and the attached note at the end of your letter where you write about the situation in... the place where you served as rabbi for many years and have now left them. It is already known what Yirmiyahu answered Baruch ben Neriyah when he sought prophecy at the time of the destruction of the Beis HaMikdash and Israel's exile (and generally, when they were exiled to Edom, the Shechinah went with them), and also "Shechinta b'Galusa" (the Divine Presence is in exile) [1].
It is also well known what the tzt"z answered one of the great chassidim, which we have heard several times from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, on his question and request to ascend to Eretz HaKodesh: The tzt"z said: "Reb Hillel'n falt nit Eretz Yisroel un dir falt Eretz Yisroel. Mach do Eretz Yisroel." (Reb Hillel does not lack Eretz Yisrael; you lack Eretz Yisrael. Make here Eretz Yisrael.) At first glance, it is not understood how the ending "make here Eretz Yisrael" connects to the beginning of this statement.
The explanation is that yearning for Eretz Yisrael should be expressed first and foremost by making one's current place into Eretz Yisrael—that is, transforming one's environment into a holy place.
I do not wish to elaborate on this painful matter, especially since you are already in Eretz HaKodesh. And I judge favorably that even before your ascent you were already spiritually in Eretz HaKodesh and from there came to... In any case, may it be G‑d's will that while being in Eretz HaKodesh you make your surroundings into Eretz Yisrael—as explained in many places in Chassidus: a land that desired to do its Creator's will; Israel—Yashar El—because you have striven with G‑d and men; and an even deeper meaning—Yisrael li rosh (Israel is My head). See Likkutei Torah Shelach (48b ff.).
Blessings for proper health for you and your wife, the Rebbetzin, and success in all of the above with expanded mind.
P.S. Surely you participate in chassidic gatherings and also encourage and remind others about this from time to time. May Hashem grant you success.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true longing for holiness means elevating one's present surroundings. Rather than focusing only on physical relocation, one should strive to make their current environment spiritually like Eretz Yisrael through Torah and mitzvos.
