It is very correct that just as you compiled the history of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe from the talks of my father-in-law the Rebbe, of blessed memory, together with information from the book Beit Rabbi, you should do similarly regarding the Mitteler Rebbe and also regarding the tzt"z. As you did with the first, so should you do with these two as well, and over time it may be possible to consider doing likewise for the Maharash based on excerpts from Sefer Toldot Maharash and the Rav Pe'er there, adding what has been printed since then until now. I hope that during this summer the book of talks from 5701 and 5702 will be published, which also contains material relevant to all of the above.

Regarding your question whether to print in the upcoming journal a list from my father-in-law the Rebbe about the period before his imprisonment: In such a journal it is not appropriate because printing with omissions of certain passages is not proper, and in a small independent booklet these omissions would stand out even more since it is only a small pamphlet by itself—unlike in a book like Kuntres Michtavim which has hundreds of pages. One can learn a general principle from what happened when a letter from my father-in-law was printed about the difference in learning approaches between Chassidim and Misnagdim (see letter 2625), as I have already written previously to Tzeirei Aguch.

Certainly here they will publish by Yud-Beis Tammuz, G‑d willing, a continuation of my father-in-law's list regarding his imprisonment in an independent booklet.

Regarding my birthplace: it is Nikolaev and not Yekaterinoslav.
