במענה על מכתבו, בו כותב אודות נחיצות הביאור לספר התניא הק'. הנה כבר ידוע פתגם נשיאנו הק' אשר בלימוד התניא שנקרא תורה שבכתב של תורת החסידות, הנה הגדול שבגדולים אינו יכול לירד עד תכליתו, ואפילו הפשוט שבפשוטים יכול להבינו במקצת עכ"פ. ובמילא מובן שכל אחד ואחד צריך ללמדו מבלי לחכות עד שיודפס ביאור וכו'. ובפרט בימינו אלה שכבר נדפסו כמה ספרי חסידות שבהם מבוארים הענינים המובאים בתניא בקיצור.
והעיקר הוא שכמו בלימוד החומש ואפילו הגמרא הרי מתחלה הלימוד הוא בפשטות ומשנה לשנה מוסיפים הבנה ועמקות, הנה כן הוא דרך הלימוד בכל חלקי תוה"ק ובמילא גם בלימוד פנימיות התורה בספר התניא, תורה אור, לקוטי תורה וכו', ואל ישים לב להסתת היצר שלימוד קשה הוא כו' כו', ובטח ראה קונטרס לימוד החסידות שגם משם מובן כנ"ל.
כבקשתו נשלח לו בחבילה בפ"ע ספר התניא הק' ובודאי יזכה בו גם את חבריו כיון שאי אפשר לשלחו לכל אחד בפני עצמו.

In response to your letter in which you write about the necessity for an explanation of the holy book Tanya. It is already known the saying of our holy leaders that in studying Tanya, which is called the Written Torah of Chassidus, even the greatest cannot reach its end, yet even the simplest can understand it at least somewhat.
Therefore, it is understood that everyone must study it without waiting for a commentary to be printed, etc. Especially in our times when several Chassidic books have already been published in which the concepts brought in Tanya are explained briefly.
The main point is that just as with studying Chumash and even Gemara, at first one learns simply and from year to year adds understanding and depth, so too is the approach in all parts of the holy Torah—including the inner dimension of Torah in Tanya, Torah Or, Likkutei Torah, etc.—and one should not pay attention to the inclination's claim that learning is difficult and so on. Surely you have seen the booklet on learning Chassidus from which this is also understood.
As you requested, a copy of the holy Tanya will be sent to you in a separate package, and surely you will share it with your friends since it is not possible to send one to each person individually.
