והוא בקל וחומר ממאמר רז"ל על הכתוב צדקתו עומדת לעד זה הכותב ספרים ומשאילם לאחרים (שעלה לו בטרחה ובדמים ובכל זה משאילם לאחרים) ויהי רצון שהלימוד בספר הנ"ל יהי' לו סם חיים לתוספת חיות בלימוד התורה וקיום המצות בהידור.

In response to your letter in which you request that a copy of the holy Tanya be sent to you: it has been sent in a separate package as you requested. Surely you will act generously with it and also enable others to benefit from it. This is all the more so based on our Sages' teaching regarding the verse 'Tzidkaso Omedes La'ad' ("His righteousness endures forever")—this refers to one who writes holy books and lends them to others (even though it cost him effort and money, he still lends them out).
May it be G‑d's will that your study of this book will be an elixir of life for you, adding vitality in Torah study and enhanced observance of mitzvos.
