I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letters from the 26th of Teves and the 4th of Shevat. It is surprising that, as it seems from the tone of your letter, your spirits have fallen because there are those who hint with an unfavorable eye toward the activities of Lubavitch and its leadership. After all, this has existed since the days of Moshe Rabbeinu, about whom people looked askance, etc. One who walks with integrity to fulfill his role and mission to illuminate his surroundings will ultimately prevail. As explained in the talk of my revered father-in-law, the previous Rebbe: "Before the truth, all become nullified," and although it may take time until they are nullified, at least we must thank Hashem that the concealments and obscurations have weakened, and consequently so have the obstacles and battles against Chabad. Whatever is in their hearts or even spoken otherwise—let it be theirs; as for us, we are workers of daylight. As the tzt"z said: "Make it bright," and therefore there is no time for battles because we must rebuild what has been destroyed...
