First of all, I hereby extend many thanks for the Chassidus booklets you sent me—many thanks for what you have done so far, and I also request that in the future, if it is within your ability, you continue to honor me with these precious items. Especially since, after all is said and done, I also use what comes into my hands regarding printed matters; thus, this too is a matter of public merit.

b) In a separate package I am sending you from here the Tanya that was published here, which includes at its end an index of topics, etc. Since I have heard from several sources that you possess Chassidic traditions—both those passed down and your own—regarding Tanya, it would be very pleasing if you would copy all of these through those who carry out your wishes. For even though you have already published notes and so on, surely over time there will be more additions and supplements. It goes without saying that if the traditions and explanations in your possession include knowledge of the name of the narrator or commentator, it is well known how much my revered father-in-law the Rebbe (of blessed memory) was particular that things be reported in detail; this applies also in our case—even where there is some uncertainty about the teaching...
