עס האט מיר געפרייט צו זען אייך ביים פארברענגען שבת בראשית. איך בין זיכער, אז דער גייסטיקער פארגעניגען וואס איר האט געהאט וועט אייך באגלייטן א גאנץ יאר.
אזוי ווי דער פארברענגען האט אנגעהאלטן אויך נאכדעם ווי איר האט געמוזט אוועקגיין, וויל איך דא איבערגעבן א נקודה פון די רייד וועלכע זיינען שפעטער געהערט געווארן.
די אלע ימים-טובים פון חודש תשרי זיינען, ווי באוואוסט, כללות'דיקע, וואס דארפן משפיע זיין אויף א גאנץ יאר. די השפעה פון שמחת תורה, וואס מ'דארף מיטנעמען מיט זיך אויף א גאנץ יאר איז - שמחת תורה, דאס הייסט, פרייען זיך מיט דער תורה יעדן טאג פון יאר.
תורה איז ניט אן אבסטראקטע חכמה, און כאטש זי האט דאס אויך, איז אבער דער עיקר כוונה פון תורה, ווי דער ווארט באדייט פון לשון הוראה און כאטש מען דארף האבן קבלת-עול צו תורה אלס א העכערע און ג-טלעכע פליכט, דארף עס אבער געטאן ווערן אויך מיט שמחה. און אז מ'טוט בשמחה, איז דאס גופא שוין דער שכר. אבער דער אויבערשטער וואס איז תכלית הטוב, גיט דערפאר אויך בריאות הגוף, הצלחה אין געשעפטן און נחת פון קינדער, און ווי די תורה זאגט - אם בחוקותי תלכו - שתהיו עמלים בתורה, זיין טעטיק אין תורה - דאן ונתנה הארץ יבולה כו' קומען אן אלע גוטע ברכות בגשמיות וברוחניות.
דאס אלעס איז גערעדט בנוגע יעדן אידן. פארשטייט זיך, אז דער וואס האט זוכה געווען און דער אויבערשטער האט אים געהאלפן צו האבן א השפעה און א פעולה אויף דער סביבה צו העלפן אויפהאלטן א מוסד פון תורה תמימה, וואס איינע פון זיינע יסודות איז זיין אן אונאויפהערלעכער קוואל פון תורה פאר דער ברייטער וועלט - אזא איד דארף זיכער געדיינקען און דערפילן זיין אויפגעבע און זיין זכות ניט נאר שמחת תורה, נאר יעדן טאג פון יאר.
השי"ת זאל אייך מצליח זיין אין אייער ארבעט פאר תורה, עס זאל זיין בהצלחה ובשמחה, און וויסנדיק אויף ווי ווייט אייער פרוי שתחי' העלפט אייך אין אלע אייערע אונטערנעמונגען, וועט זי אייך זיכער זיין א הילף אין אייער אונטערנעמונג פאר דער ישיבה תומכי תמימים און זיין א שותף אין אלע ג-טלעכע ברכות.

It gave me pleasure to see you at the farbrengen on Shabbat Bereishit. I am certain that the spiritual delight you experienced will accompany you throughout the entire year. Since the farbrengen continued even after you had to leave, I want to share here a point from the words that were later heard.
All the festivals of the month of Tishrei are, as is well known, general in nature and are meant to influence the entire year. The impact of Simchat Torah, which we must carry with us all year long, is this: Simchat Torah means rejoicing with the Torah every day of the year.
The Torah is not an abstract wisdom; although it has that aspect too, its main purpose is as its name implies—from the word "hora'ah" (instruction). And although one must accept upon oneself the yoke of Torah as a higher and Divine duty, it must also be done with joy.
And when one acts with joy, this itself is already a reward. But since G‑d is ultimate goodness, He therefore also grants physical health, success in business, and nachas from children. As the Torah says—Im Bechukotai Teileichu (If you follow My statutes)—meaning you should labor in Torah; being active in Torah—then V'natnah Haaretz Yevulah (the land will yield its produce), all good blessings come both materially and spiritually.
This applies to every Jew. Of course, someone who has merited—and whom G‑d has helped—to have an influence on his environment by helping maintain an institution of pure Torah—one whose foundations include being an unceasing source of Torah for the broader world—such a person must certainly remember and fulfill his mission and merit not only on Simchat Torah but every day of the year.
May Hashem grant you success in your work for Torah; may it be with success and joy. And knowing how much your wife supports you in all your endeavors, she will surely be a help to you in your undertaking for Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim and be a partner in all Divine blessings.
