I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from before Rosh Chodesh Elul and Erev Shabbat Parshat Teitzei. Thank you very much for the good news about the improvement in the health of the students you mention in your letter. Surely you will also inform me of good things regarding the other students as well.

Regarding what you wrote about your efforts that the suitable students remain at the yeshivah during Tishrei: it is self-evident that my intention was only that this be done with their willing consent, and it was good that you explained the matter to them in this way as well. I also said that certainly one can be confident in the benefit if it happens on site, and he should utilize the time with them in a manner fitting for Chabad spirit. Since for them this is a matter of mesirus nefesh (self-sacrifice), it is necessary to show them that "es leyanet zich dos zei" (they themselves will benefit from this). However, as appears from your letter, there are several difficulties at home connected to this matter; so at least try to arrange whatever is possible with detailed instructions. Perhaps it would be worthwhile that at least they spend some days together during the Ten Days of Teshuvah, even though obviously it is not quite the same.

I am interested to know whether spiritual provisions were given to those students who traveled.

As per your request, twenty booklets of "Ein HaKadosh Baruch Hu Ba B'Trunya" were sent. If you let us know which booklets or sichos are needed, they will be sent directly if we have them available.
