Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased with what you wrote in your letter regarding your participation in Chabad communal activities. It is well known the ruling of our Sages that one must always ascend in matters of holiness (which, according to some halachic authorities, is a Torah commandment. And even according to those who hold it is Rabbinic—as is also the opinion of our Rebbe [in Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim, section 34, paragraph 9]—nonetheless, 'Tovim dodecha mi-yayin' (Your love is better than wine) [Shir HaShirim 1:2], and as our Sages said [Avodah Zarah 35a]: 'Beloved are the words of the Scribes more than the words of Torah').
With blessings for good health and a joyous Purim.
Summary
The Rebbe encourages continuous growth in holiness through active involvement in Chabad communal life, highlighting that both Torah law and Rabbinic teaching value such spiritual ascent.
