במענה על הודעתו מקשוה"ת של בתו תחי'. יתן השי"ת שיהי' בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ובבנין עדי עד על יסודי התורה והמצוה כפי שהם מוארים במאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות.
והנה ידוע דרך הקדושה שהוא לאט לאט. ובמילא צריך הי' למצוא דרכים המתאימים לקרב את המיול"ח[1] לתורת החסידות דרכי' והנהגותי'. ובפרט ע"פ מרז"ל דחתנו כבנו[2] וידוע שמצות חינוך הבן היא מוטלת על האב ובפרט מצות חינוך דתלמוד תורה שהוא מדאורייתא על האב וכפסק רבינו ז"ל בהלכות ת"ת בתחלתו ובכמה מקומות. ופשוט אשר לימוד תורת החסידות הוא בכלל זה.

In response to your message regarding your daughter's engagement, may Hashem grant that it be at an auspicious and successful time, and may their home be everlasting, built upon the foundations of Torah and mitzvah as they are illuminated by the light within Torah—that is, the teachings of Chassidus.
It is well known that the path of holiness proceeds gradually. Therefore, it is necessary to find appropriate ways to bring the one destined to be your son-in-law closer to the teachings of Chassidus—its ways and customs. This is especially so according to our Sages' statement that a son-in-law is like a son (Eruvin 41a). It is known that the mitzvah of educating one's child rests upon the father—especially the mitzvah of teaching Torah, which is a biblical obligation for the father, as ruled by our Rebbe in Hilchos Talmud Torah at its beginning and in several places. Clearly, learning Chassidus is included in this.
