B"H, 17 Elul, may Hashem grant the Avrech vavac"h iy"a etc. ... Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from Motzaei Shabbos Kodesh 7 Elul and your question: until now you have studied in the yeshiva in Tel Aviv and you ask that since recently you feel a lack here, perhaps it is worthwhile to change places. In general, you should present this matter to your mashpia, Harav Hachasid etc. etc. Reb Shlomo Chaim Kasselman, and inform me of his opinion on this.
Regarding what you write about feeling a lack, you do not clarify what exactly is lacking. After all, you have among you kuntreisim of the teachings of my father-in-law the Rebbe hk"m and his talks, which contain guidance and advice on how not to allow the clever one (the yetzer hara) to distract from Torah and service with fear of Heaven. There is reason to say that this feeling of lack also comes from the confusion of the yetzer hara who disguises himself according to each person's spirit in order to entice him.
Surely you have set times especially for studying the teachings of my father-in-law the Rebbe hk"m, and you say every day chapter 71 of Tehillim. May it be G‑d's will that you merit to be a chassid, G‑d-fearing person, and scholar, and that through you will be fulfilled the desire of my father-in-law the Rebbe hk"m—that "Nerot Leha'ir" (lights to illuminate), meaning that you will illuminate your environment with the light of Torah in fear of Heaven. Inform me of good news regarding this.
The pan enclosed in your letter I will read at the resting place of my father-in-law the Rebbe hk"m. And "the righteous one who has passed on is found in this world more than during his lifetime," he will give his blessing and may Hashem fulfill it with goodness both physically and spiritually.
With blessings for a good inscription and sealing,
Menachem Schneerson

Chapter 71: See above Iggeres Teremad, and as referenced in its notes there.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that feelings of lack may be tactics of the yetzer hara; one should consult their mashpia before making changes and focus on strengthening Torah study and positively influencing their environment.
