In the branches of the work of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, the "Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch" and "Machne Israel" held a special place with him, as he felt a unique responsibility for them by personally taking upon himself the effort to provide the necessary means for their expenses—both in their public aspects and those managed secretly, which continue even now in a discreet manner.

It is clear and obvious that my revered father-in-law's intention, desire, and will is that all these areas of work should continue as before—not only in their current quantity and quality but like any living work that grows, develops, and expands.

But now this financial responsibility for these areas of work rests upon all of us—each and every one of his Chassidim and those connected to him—to be the vessels and channels through which my revered father-in-law continues his influence even more powerfully. For "tzaddika d'etpatar is found in all worlds," even in this world of action, more than during his lifetime.

I suggest you speak with Anash in your community and organize a joint local committee for Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch and Machne Israel. As soon as possible, it should begin practical work according to local conditions to regularly provide a certain portion of the expenses for these areas of work.

Please inform me of the names of the committee members so I can mention them at the Ohel of my revered father-in-law for blessing and great success in their committee work specifically, and in their matters generally.

If possible, let me know so they can be mentioned at the Ohel on Yud-Beis Tammuz—the day of liberation which is also my revered father-in-law's birthday. (See Yerushalmi Rosh Hashanah ch. 3 halachah 8; Shabbat 156a with Rashi and Tosafot; note from Likkutei Torah beginning Haazinu; Mayim Rabim 5636 p.184; Dvarim HaTechumah Atar. Much more could be said.) At that time there can be—and therefore must be—a strengthening of connection and following in his ways and activities which he himself performed, as above, with even greater strength.
